Cindy & Brian Larsen"You don't have to cook fancy or complicated masterpieces - just good food from fresh ingredients." Julia Child US cook & cookbook author (1912 - 2004). This philosophy has been with Quehl's of Tavistock since it was established in 1931. Though many physical changes have occurred in the past 77 years, the same heart beats within these restaurant walls. There has been an expansion of the building to accommodate up to 285 people within a maze of dining rooms suited for family gatherings or business meetings, ranging from 12 to 60 people. There has been a large area covered by Quehl's in regard to our catering services that reaches most of Southwest Ontario. With the invaluable help of the Tavistock Historical Society, Quehl's has a large display of Tavistock memorabilia, railway artifacts and antiques to keep you browsing for hours. Yet with all these improvements, there is no room for change in what we at Quehl's do best: serve homes-tyle, nutritional, well balanced meals, free of M.S.G. and with detailed attention to our customers requirements. We take our Family Restaurant designation seriously with nutritional children's menu's and options. We also service meals on wheels for the surrounding community. Quehl's is definitely woven into the fabric of this community.

Your Hosts: Cindy and Brian Larsen, owners since 1993. Cindy's experience in the hospitality/restaurant business, began when she was 14 years old as a dish washer and with drive and determination, she succeeded to become the general manager of a large hotel in the Kitchener area. Brian's experience evolved from a Danish restaurant and country club background, as well as a family restaurant and catering owned by his parents, as well as training with a Mennonite lady cook at the same hotel that Cindy looked after. Together, they bring enormous experience to Quehl's and yet they admit that there is always a learning curve. Keeping the pulse of societies changing appetite but not compromising on the quality that has kept Quehl's in the same place for 77 years is a delightful challenge. Many of the recipes at Quehl's have been used for more that 60 years. Hope you'll come on in and see us at Quehl's.
